Singapore, 15 June 1989
In 1989 the very first Aquarama took place in Singapore. It was the first International Fish exhibition & Conference to which Heiko Bleher had coordinated most of the international speakers from around the world; the championships of discus and other fish categories; gave the Keynote Speech and Seminars and judged the discus.
Heiko had invited such international authorities as Kamihata san from Hikari Company in Japan – the world expert on Koi (below); the president of OFI, Jack Ruysbroek (below left) of the Ornamental Fish International organisation which Heiko founded together with the help of Dr Martin Tripp and Dr Fuchs in 1976-77 (the dates given elsewhere are erroneous) and worked for years very close with the organizer (below right) to make this the most successfull aquatic event on Earth.
Fish prizes were give out to fish categories and certifications for Lecturers and judges.
