During the PetFish 2011 Heiko Bleher had been invited for a fantastic diner and to see possibly the most unique aquarium fish hobbyist on Earth, who had just finished building a special large house, with 100 specifically for him in China constructed aquariums, for him to host some of the most amazing and rare freshwater fishes known to man kind.

Possibly one of the most amazing aquarium fish, animal, nature and fish lover lives in Manila, Philippines. He has just completed a new, very large, building and had ordered in China 100 custom made large giant aquariums to house his rare and in part unique freshwater fishes. Heiko Bleher was invited to visit this amazing place while in the Philippines for his research expeditions and being judge with his Turkish friend Cüneyt Birol to judge at the PetFish 2011 championships and aquatic exhibition. He had just finished to put everything in place shortly before this visit and Heiko suggested to place the fishes according to their habit: top swimmers in the upper aquariums row, middle swimming species in the centre row, and the bottoms dwelling (mostly catfishes) in the lower aquariums.
On this huge property are beautiful landscapes with rare trees and plants, several ponds and cascades, wild ducks and goose from around the world and night flowering Nympheae species.
Also in his garden he has several hide-a-ways like in spot a large aquarium within a giant tree-trunk with a red arowana, or at his garden-house a real beautiful marine aquarium with a large coral reef. And he has many birds, reptiles, but also other animals, like this beautiful and rare endemic otter. There are only 124 species of otters worldwide and most at the brink of extinction (if not extinct already). I had one for 6 month sleeping with me, these are the most peaceful and intelligent animals I know.
He has a very beautiful house and within the entrance large ponds with beautiful and rare Nishikogoi, aquatic plants and water lilies.
He and his wife (centre) invited us for a very special diner. It was an amazing evening and fantastic selection of dishes, all arranged and coordinate by his wife, also the menu. It was really a memorial evening …
